(More customer reviews)I am updating my earlier review. Have had this item for several weeks. I am going to return it to Walmart if I can. It makes the Wii process more cumbersome. Sometimes you need to remove the remote when selecting your game. Everyone's play has deteriorated with the tennis racquet. The baseball bat is a negative in game play, due to the need to remove the remote to pitch properly. You can pitch with the bat, but how realistic is that? However, the bat is fine to use for the training games. Children (and adults), will probably enjoy using it for the training games, but not for the actual games. The golf club is still a positive. For anyone enjoying a Wii golf game, the game may be worth buying for the club. But for me, $35 for a nerf club is just too expensive. I will leave my rating at 3 stars. The quality is decent, and it does have some positive features. Most Wii accessories appear overpriced. This is no more overpriced than other accessories. It just isn't a value purchase for me.

Retiree here. My wife likes this product. My take. My overall scores go down, though it is a little more fun. By item: 1. Baseball-Holding the bat is nice, but when playing the game, you must also pitch with the bat, or keep removing/then installing the wimote every half inning. Rate this a C. Golf. Golf is more enjoyable with this product. Rate this an A. Tennis. Tennis is enjoyable, but my scores went down. I guess with practice, they should go back up. Rate this a B-.
Only golf club. baseball bat, tennis raquet included (attachment for wimote). There is no steering wheel. Note that the picture does not include a steering wheel, though the description says it does. The product is made by Performance Design Produts, and the Nerf name is licensed by Hasbro. Apparently some look alike products. The quality on mine is okay.
Value: Pricey for what you get. It does work. I thought this would be good for my grandson playing Wii baseball. However, the need to pitch with the bat tempers the fun. Price paid: $34.95 at Walmart. Many in stock. Best Buy $36.95. Amazon does not sell these direct, only through partners. EBAY prices with shipping are ridiculous.

Bases Loaded 3 Review

(More customer reviews)Bases Loaded 3 is the third out of a series of four Bases Loaded games for the NES, and has improved graphics and soundtrack versus the first two. As with others in this series, the umpire calls "strikes", "balls" and "outs". There's a variety of pitching styles, the standard overhand, the sidearm and a few submarine pitchers. To throw a fastball, up to 111 m.p.h, hold UP, hold A(pitch), then quickly toggle directly to DOWN and back to UP (without any curve). The fastball usually results in easy ground outs. The pitching controls are more complex than BL1 and BL2, now including a sinker.
There is one team that can be edited to customize with your own stats (though it doesn't permanently save). You can adjust the pitchers' ERA, speed and stamina and the batters' hitting average, homeruns and base speed. Your starting pitchers should have a stamina of at least 60 if you want them to last the standard 6 innings.
Whatever team you select is automatically placed in a pennant race. The first game in versus computer mode is basically a "gimme" since the computer fielding is so weak. The second and subsequent games have tight computer fielding and most of your batters hit weak popups to infielders so you're lucky to get ten hits.
The pitching versus computer rewards the repeated use of one pitch, [up/right]+A then release the control pad halfway into the windup. Fatigue will eventually allow the computer batters to hit it, but simply substitute the next pitcher. It doesn't matter which pitcher you select since they all can strikeout computer batters with this pitch until they tire. The fielding is also way too easy once I got used to the terribly limited variety of ball flight paths, and it's too easy to pickoff runners. Bases Loaded 3 is better than Bases Loaded 1 in terms of graphics, soundtrack and faster pace, but not the gameplay.

(More customer reviews)There seems to be some confusion about what the sports pack is supposed to do. It just adds a plastic extension to the remote that looks nice and gives you a better two handed grip. Yes, when the attachment is in place it does completely block the IR sensor. So you just use the four way key to navigate any menues. The games themselves do not use the IR sensor.
Putting the remote into the shell is easy if you remember to put the front in first, and tuck it under the front lip. Then the back slides down inside the rear lip. To remove it (say, to switch from batter to picher in baseball) just lift by the strap while holding onto the shell, and back the remote out from the front lip.
One thing to remember is that the extension adds lenght to the remote. This means that you need even more room to swing when you use one of them.
Bottom line: they're a nice little addition to make the games a little more fun. They won't change the actual game in any way, they just make waving that remote look a little less silly.

Wii 15 in 1 Players Kit Review

(More customer reviews)The gun from this kit does not work with the Wii. It's supposed to trigger the "B" button on the wiimote, but it doesn't move far enough to trigger the "B" button. I was trying to use it on a few shooting games which fire via the "B" button. It was disappointing. Also, the steering wheel needs better engineering. At least the official wheel from Nintendo has a little space for the wrist strap to go through. This wheel did not and it was hard to shove the wiimote in and out of the steering wheel as the tiny extra space the wrist strap needed kept getting caught. I would recommend looking for other wii guns or steering wheels, even if you have to pay a little extra.

Hammerin' Hero Review

(More customer reviews)I got this last night and played through the first level. So far so good. You play as this boy who carries a giant wooden hammer on his shoulder (you acquire more weapons as you progress through the game) and traverse through a few houses, shops, restaurants, a sauna place and construction site. You start up with two attacks (horizontal and vertical swings), jump and crouch as your basic skills and you acquire more as you advance in later stages. When you beat enemies, like the construction workers in the first level, they drop an item and sometimes fly into the background, which is quite funny. Each stage ends with a boss battle like a giant construction worker or Godzilla. Your character falls if hit once but the game has a very forgiving checkpoint system where it instantly loads just a couple seconds before you died without any loading screen. Each stage presents a unique environment along with different enemies to keep things from getting repetitive. All in all, it's a solid and fun game, especially to those who love Anime, Manga, Japanese video games and anything to do with Japanese culture.

MLB Slugfest 20-03 Review

(More customer reviews)I rented this game and I have to say it was pretty entertaining, especially when playing against a friend. You can bean people, and then initiate fights at any base you like to try to get the player to drop the ball or get the player to step off the base. The graphics are unbelievable for the stadiums and the players are good except for the fact that some heads do not really resemble the players in real life, but this is not a problem at all. Batting is very easy and so is pitching, but the only minor downfall of this game is the fielding. It took a long time to learn how to field the right way and I still make errors all the time. Balls go to the outfield and infield way too fast and it is hard to judge where they are going to land or go until it is almost too late. Once you get the touch with diving and jumping it is a lot easier, but at first it is going to be real frustrating with fielding so be prepared to work on it. I also found the CPU to be extremely hard, even at the very easiest level, when I first started off. The best part of the game, besides the fighting, is that players can catch on fire if they start the game well batting and this improves their batting, power, and fielding skills. My advice to you is to buy the game because it will take a while to get used to the game and there is so much you can do with the game that renting it would not do justice. Plus, make sure you have friends at your disposal to be able to duke it out with, bcuz especially for this game it is way more entertaining and fun than simply playing against the CPU.

(More customer reviews)I really liked the concept of this product, but please be warned of the following: The product has a single holder for the wii remote, which then attaches to either the bat, golf club or tennis racket. The problem with this is that the holder connector to the sports equipment is very weak. The first time I used this product, I used the bat in the wii Sports baseball game. The bat has enough weight to it that it creates a breaking point at the remote holder's connection to the bat. Swinging the bat in the air, for one inning, caused the bat to break off the remote holder and fly into a wall, literally putting a hole in the wall. I am just glad it didn't fly into one of my children.
This is a great product concept, but not tested thoroughly in terms of the stresses that would be put on the plastic components with normal use. Would love to see an improved version, and hope to get a refund on this one.
