Wii Nerf Sports Pack Review

I bought this set mainly for my girlfriend who loves Wii sports but sometimes has trouble visualizing which way the wiimote has to face to get the intended reaction. This set solved that problem.
I've seen other sets like this available but chose to avoid them (i didn't like the manufacturers). The nerf material in this set is what sold me...its soft yet still firm and it feels great in your hands (not too light or too heavy).
Make sure you give your self even more room to play now.

There is one brittle clear plastic coupling piece the Wii controller imbeds to (without the Motionplus attachment)and required to attach the individual accessories to the remote. So if you have the resort games or sport games that require the MotionPlus device, these accessories are unusable.

Was very short. The hidden items were hidden well, but in some rooms, just a very small part of the item would be showing on the outer edges. No one could have found them with out using the hint. Only 2 hints per section. In one place had to look for a baseball, it wasn't showing at all, I clicked in the black section at the bottom and there it was. Like I said OK for the price.

My 9 year old son is a sports fanatic and asked for this game. I was hesitant because of the price, but bought it anyway - because of the price! It turned out to be very fun! You choose your team, it can be all boy, all girl, or mixed, and you can play full games and championships. Everyone has stats, and you can build your own team, save it, and play against a myriad of other teams. My son loves this game, and I enjoy watching it. I highly recommend this, especially for the value you get.

Super Bases Loaded 2 Review

Super Bases Loaded 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This one allowed you to build your own team and play against the computer teams. Players performed up to their stats. The music and sounds were pretty good. You could save seasons, set up different kinds of schedules and play your way through.
Pretty responsive player control, especially with the pitching and hitting. Not so much with the fielding.
No real teams, but like the old Bases Loaded series for the NES, which was very popular, this game was rather addictive.
Graphics were hit and miss, with some distorted looking out of proportion bodies --- this was most apparent when they were moving along the bases.
It wasn't too difficult to beat the computer.
Still, recommended and good for its time (mid 90s). I tried the other Bases Loaded games for the SNES (three versions were created) and liked this one the best.

i about fell over and died when i saw how much this costs... for anyone who has not played WOW and wants to, please don't buy this collectors edition one. you can buy the first 3 games, WOW, The Burning Crusade, & Wrath of the Lich King straight from Blizzard for like $20. All 3 for $20... A mousepad, hat, special book, DVD, in-game pet (which is only for looks) and some trading cards is not worth the extra $359... Im only saying this for your own good.

Sports Jam (Dreamcast, 2001) Review

Sports Jam (Dreamcast, 2001)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Who can say the Dreamcast is really dead when quality game after quality game comes out? Sports Jam is no exception. A port of the arcade game, Sports Jam is a button mashing fest of 12 events from various sports. Some of the events include a 3 point basketball shootout, a home-run derby, a soccer corner kick and penalty shootout game, a putting golf game, a football field kicking game and a football running game. Most of these events require you to mash the buttons as fast as you can just like their cousins, Decathelete and Winter Heat on the Sega Saturn. The graphics are excellent and the sound is great with an announcer and all. The most fun with Sports Jam is with 2 players; you'll end up playing this for hours with friends. The only problem is that the game will get repetitive after a while but for the amount of fun Sports Jam is, it's well worth buying it.

Nintendo Wii 2 Player Bundle with Nyko Charge Station Review

Nintendo Wii 2 Player Bundle with Nyko Charge Station
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had played this Wii thing at my sons home. I thought it was just a game for the grand children. My son had me try bowling, which the wife and I loved when we were young. I figured it was just a kids game. Boy was I wrong. After I read the instructions and a little coaching from the grand kids, I was bowling just like I did 40 years ago. They had me try a tennis game that was on this Wii Resort game they had. By golly I found out I was good at that. I have never played tennis in my life. The wife tried the archery game and found out she was good at that. All in all this thing is fantastic for people like us who don't get out much in the winter with the 20 below temps. It keeps you limber and alert and sure beats the heck out of watching all those new talk shows that put you to sleep.

Grand slam 97 isn't much on features like graphics. But it is a fun and simple game which is nice change from the glitzy Nintendo and Playstation games big on graphics and cinimatic hype. It is a unique game that is my favorite sports game and has been since it came out in 1997. Virgin should do a Grand Slam 2002

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Collector's Edition (Bundled with Official Hat and 2 Strategy Guides) Review

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Collector's Edition (Bundled with Official Hat and 2 Strategy Guides)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Before I start, I just want to say that this IS real. I was kind of skeptical because of the price and wasn't sure if this was used, the real collectors edition, etc.
THIS IS REAL. The cd-key is legit and you will get the in-game pet ("frosty") as well as the "feats of strength" achievement.
The two strategy guides aren't the larger sized editions, they're the ones like from the WOW battle chest. But they're still useful and have, most importantly, some pretty pictures (Mainly in the Burning Crusade guide, not the original). The hat is also very good, it has this flex fit which is kind of nice for people with larger heads (like mine - I have trouble wearing most hats)
Ok now onto everything else, this is VERY large. I was really surprised with how big the collectors edition actually is. It's about 10 1/2" x 12" x 3". But when I opened it and pulled out the contents I was so surprised with the quality, and the contents of this that I'm now planning on purchasing the next expansion, cataclysm, in the collectors edition. This came with some trading cards for the trading card game, it came with the behind the scenes dvd, the art of world of warcraft book (Which is very large as well, it's not a small little book), the soundtrack cd, a mousepad of northerend, a free 10-day trial cdkey for a friend and of course the actual game itself.
The behind the scenes dvd is fantastic, they show you a lot of the work that went into it, albeit, not as much detail as I personally would've liked but then again, I don't think most people would like to listen to how someone rig's the characters for animations, or how their personal workflows for things, it's a nice overview of the whole process, from concept, to model, to animation and the final product. There's also some extras, like trailers from diablo3, starcraft2, trailers from the patches in wow... There's also a little quiz in the dvd testing your "wow" knowledge.
The game, well it's pretty much just useful for the cdkey to activate on [...] for me.
The soundtrack is awesome, there's some great music here and it's great just being able to listen to it in it's purest form, without having to deal with the hussle and bussle of wow. Even if you dont like wow, or even pay attention to the music, there's still some great scores in here that are absolutely beautiful.
The mousepad is nice, it's pretty generic except it has a picture of northerend on the front, it's a larger mouse pad. But that's about it, nice quality, but nothing really jaw dropping or super exciting.
The trading cards are ok, I don't really use them but there's 2 packs of cards in there. But they're cool, I might use them sometime. Who knows.
The art book is awesome, it's got a lot of great, high quality art from the making of wotlk. All in all, I was very surprised and very pleased with this. Not only did I get everything (And more!) that I wanted but I got it for a great price as well. I can't wait to see what's in the next collectors edition..

Blue and Pink 8 in 1 Sports Pack For Nintendo Wii - 2 Pack Review

Blue and Pink 8 in 1 Sports Pack For Nintendo Wii - 2 Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These sports packs for the Wii are great. There is a blue set and a pink set that came together, so now we are able to tell our controllers apart (my son's and mine). When using the steering wheel, the controller still works to change settings, so you don't have to keep taking it off like I've read in some reviews for other attachments. These sets even come with little colored wrist straps, so your Wii controllers and nunchucks can be completely blue and completely pink.
The only bad feature (that some people might like) is that the remote and nunchuck cases snap on really really well and when I needed to take the one off of the remote, I was afraid I would break the case trying to get it off. They are made out of thick sturdy plastic, so it didn't break and now we just leave those off. We rarely need to take the nunchucks out of their cases (except to put them in the fishing rod that came with a different game), so we leave those on all of the time.
My kids really love getting to use a realistic little steering wheel and bat when they play their games. There are a couple of other attachments that we haven't gotten to use yet, but once we get the other games (tennis ones, etc.), I'm sure the kids will enjoy those just as much.

Extra Innings Review

Extra Innings
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I know most people will look at the graphics in Extra Innings and laugh their butts off but please believe me when I say this is *seriously* one incredibly fun baseball game! True, it lacks many of the options todays baseball games have, but that's okay with me since all I really care about is how much fun I have with a game. And I've had (and continue to have) a LOT of fun with Extra Innings. In fact, I've had this game for almost 10 years, ever since my uncle from California bought it for me. The game only gets better with time!
The graphics aren't good since the players on the field are really tiny and they all look identical, but the play control is perfect. Moving your guy left, right, up or down on the field is easy as pie, and you should have NO trouble at all running towards a ball. When you're up to bat, getting base hits and hitting homeruns happen frequently, too. You will most likely get at LEAST 5 points in every game you play, since it's so easy to get runs.
Infield homeruns happen a lot too because some players run incredibly fast (while other players move as slow as a turtle and a snail in a 10-mile race!) Here's a tip for you: if a runner is slow that usually means they are a bad hitter, and the fast runners are good/great hitters. Also, tapping the L and R buttons on top of the controller will make the guy run around the bases faster. Tapping the L and R buttons will also make the guys in the field run faster, too (and I mean the team YOU control, not the players on the other team). But you have to tap those buttons fast!
The music is very much like real baseball music. ALWAYS very clear, and very good. Each of the three stadiums to choose has its own theme song, and having players on first, second or third base will change the music into something else. So there's a lot of music variety in the game. You can change an option to make it where the computer controls the outfield part of the game (instead of you) but I always leave that option alone because I like to do all the outfield work myself instead of having the computer do it for me.
Diving and jumping to catch balls is something you need to prepare and learn, since you're going to need to move FAST in this game in order to have time to grab the balls and get the players out. Not very hard to do (because of the great play control) and there are some really cool tricks you can do in the game to get your opponents out at the bases VERY easily, and with experience you'll find that when you're up to bat, there are ways to mess with the computer so you can advance to another base (and even home plate!) You'll have to play this game for a long time to find those tricks but believe me, they can come in handy if you are losing a game and finding yourself in a situation where you can pull off one of those tricks!
It's very easy to score in Extra Innings and, funnily enough, you rarely have games where you go in extra innings! After a while, when you begin to *really* get good at the game, the computer becomes easy and Extra Innings may not hold your interest after you continue winning game after game, but Extra Innings held up VERY well for me over the years. I've been playing it for over 10 years and I still enjoy every moment of it.
Just because it LOOKS bad compared to todays baseball games doesn't mean the game is any less fun. Matter of fact, out of all the baseball games I have ever played, Extra Innings is the only one I truly care about (but that could change as new games come out all the time). Extra Innings rules because it's easy to control and the pace of the game moves *perfect* for me. Not too fast, not too slow. Plus, scoring runs is easy and fun so you HAVE to like it! A great, overlooked game and one of the finest on the Super NES (and for the price -sitting at a few dollars right now- you should buy it).
Just don't expect Extra Innings to have as many options as the baseball games out there on the market today. Go in expecting a simple fun baseball game and you'll be happy. A lovable, playable baseball game, that's exactly what it is.
