I'm playing a season in rookie mode and I've lost 5 straight after winning 5 straight. I'm not new to baseball games, been playing them since '95. Even in rookie mode, the computer makes ridiculous catches. Pitchers can sometimes get really wild until you're forced to throw a fastball right down the middle of the plate which will get rocked. Fielding can get tricky at times. You press the button to throw to the base but the fielder will just stand there and not throw the ball. Pitchers don't last very long.
Hitting is fun but my pet peeve is how the hitters will pop out harmlessly so often. The strike zone is quite inconsistent as well. Even the announcers will talk about the strike zone!
For a portable system, the graphics are very good. The attention to detail on the player batting stances is really cool.
